21ST BIRTHDAY PRESENT

For my sister’s 21st birthday, I decided to make her a personally designed plaque to commemorate our friendship. I’d come across a few of these acrostic poem plaques online, but the ones that were available for purchase as a gift were all quite bulky and kitsch. I wanted something with a bit more subtlety and understated elegance, like my sister.

I modelled up the above sketch design in Rhino and then reached out to Pretty Polly Designs in Melbourne to help me achieve the product I was after. They were incredibly helpful and professional in their service and even suggested a few alternatives to achieve a better outcome and a more reasonable price. I’d originally wanted “SISTER” to stand out in a pink satin ice material in theme with the transparent base, however, this would have made the glue visible through the lettering which would not have been a good look, so I ended up going for a standard pink gloss sheet instead.
