Glen Iris House is an extension to a single dwelling, attached at both ends with neighbouring party walls, in a leafy suburban neighbourhood. The young family loved their home and the area but were outgrowing it. A new second storey introduced much-needed bedrooms, bathrooms, and storage, relieving the cramped ground floor and creating a more functional family layout.

The existing kitchen and bathroom were thoughtfully renovated, and the floors were replaced with beautiful hardwood timber, a material that brought warmth and continuity throughout the home extension. The new stair, illuminated by a skylight above the void, elevates the experience of moving between floors, bringing light and a sense of openness to the heart of the house.
