1_ reach out

It begins with a meeting, over coffee or tea, where we discuss your project and gain a preliminary understanding of your brief. We’ll guide you through the process of working with an architect, outline what’s typically involved in a project like yours, and help you understand how to structure your budget. Based on this conversation, we’ll provide a fee proposal and return brief to ensure we’ve captured your vision accurately.

2_ concept design

The creative process begins as we develop a design in response to your brief. In consultation with you and your budget, we craft a narrative around your vision that will inform the materiality, spatial planning, and both interior and exterior design. We’ll prepare sketches, floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views to help you visualise the design. Throughout this stage, there are opportunities to refine and evolve ideas collaboratively to ensure every detail aligns with your goals.

3_ documentation

Once the concept design is approved, we collaborate with specialist consultants, such as structural engineers, energy assessors, and surveyors, to further develop the design for planning and building approvals, tender, and construction. This phase includes the preparation of a comprehensive documentation package consisting of detailed drawings, specifications, and finishes and fixtures schedules.

4_ approvals

We manage the approvals process on your behalf, liaising with relevant authorities and coordinating any supplementary documentation required to secure town planning and building permits.

5_ construction

Once all permits are in place, we assist you in selecting a builder best suited to your project. During construction, we can act as your representative by administering the building contract and conducting regular site visits to observe progress. We monitor workmanship, material selections, and quality to ensure the built outcome reflects the design intent and documentation.
