The project journey
Reach out
It begins with an initial meeting to discuss your project and establish a preliminary understanding of the brief. From this, we outline the scope of work, typical stages of delivery, and how best to structure budget expectations. We then prepare a fee proposal and return brief to confirm the direction of the project.
Sketch design
The design process begins in response to the brief. Working within the parameters of budget and site, we develop spatial ideas that explore form, materiality and the relationship between interior and exterior.
Designs are developed through sketches, plans, elevations, sections and 3D studies, allowing the proposal to be understood and tested as a whole. Ideas are refined through ongoing review, ensuring the design remains coherent as it develops.
Documentation
Once the design has been signed off, we coordinate with specialist consultants including structural engineers, energy assessors and surveyors to develop the project for planning, tender and construction.
This stage focuses on coordination and resolution. Drawings, specifications and schedules are prepared to clearly communicate the design intent and ensure consistency across all components of the project.
Approvals
We coordinate the approvals process, liaising with relevant authorities and managing the documentation required for planning and building permits.
Construction
With approvals in place, we assist in selecting a builder suited to the project and level of complexity. During construction, we undertake periodic site reviews to monitor progress, material quality and alignment with the design intent.
At completion, we coordinate final walkthroughs and rectification of any minor defects and conclusion of final contract matters.
